Having babies, we've realized that having a routine is everything, and babies live off that. The first couple weeks I had Cece I was so worried about creating a routine for her, but its like you don't even know where to start. I tried keeping her awake during the day so she would sleep through the night. That didn't work.. I tried putting her down for naps at certain times everyday so I would know when I could get a break. That didn't work either.. They fall asleep when they want to, they eat when they want to, and they cry when everything isn't the exact way they want it. I remember feeling completely hopeless when there was nothing I could predict from her, and I thought it would never get better. I talked with some friends and family members who had babies and they all told me not to worry, and that eventually they would create their own routine and everything would get better. Thats the phrase I kept hearing.. "Everything will get better" I waited for 6 months until that finally became true, and it really did get better! Cece finally started falling asleep at the same times every day, and getting her on a more predictable schedule became easier and easier. Now I know exactly when she will eat, take her naps, and go to sleep for the night. I couldn't ask for anything better!
One part of our daily routines that we all look forward to are our walks. With summer just behind us, and fall beginning, it has been the best part of our day! I don't know about you guys, but it seems like our babies get sick of being in the house all day and just want to get out no matter where we go! One of our favorite products that we've used as being new moms have been our Tula Baby Carriers. They are perfect for walks, and they are so easy to put on with the baby, and they are super comfortable to wear! We've tried the $20 carriers, and the $150 carriers and it really does make a difference when you are comparing quality. We are all about substituting an expensive product with a cheaper version if you get pretty much the same results, but in this case it is definitely worth it to spend the extra money. The problem with the cheaper carriers is that they really are not made as well, and they don't hold up the same way some as the more expensive carriers do. When you are carrying a 20lb baby on your chest you need as much support as possible, and the Tula baby carrier really provides that! The other thing to keep in mind too is that you will get a lot of use out of this carrier. It can be used with newborns all the way up to 45lbs! All you ladies who can carry around your 45lb baby on you get a round of applause! We will be using our husbands for that.. We carried them around for 9 months so its the least they can do, right!?
