We got these super cute pieces on the Ivy Staple website and decided to give them our winterized twist. :) Ivy Staple has some cute clothes that are more spring/summery but you can use these tips to help you dress those clothes in the colder months. We also love that they have a good prices! There are lots of ways that you can take a cute summer piece and layer it up to give it a more fall/winter feel. Here are 5 tips that we've come up with to take any summer piece, and wear it year round!
1. Layer with long sleeve underneath
One of the easiest ways to add some warmth to your outfit is to just layer it up with some long sleeves! We love the way Ashlyn layered her outfit in the picture below with this jumpsuit. It adds some character with the stripes and bell sleeves without covering up the cute jumpsuit! We also added this chain link belt to accentuate the waist, and make it more flattering.
2. Add leggings or thick tights
This is another fun and simple way to take your summer items to the next level! We love to wear thick leggings under our short summer dresses, and pair them with some boots and a jacket to add some warmth.
3. Wear socks under your strappy sandals
Don't store away your favorite strappy sandals for winter. Bring em' out and flaunt them! We love to wear knee high socks or tights under our strappy sandals. Pair them with a t-shirt dress, shorts, or skirt!
4. Tone down the bright colors with a neutral cardigan
Summer clothes tend to be really bright in color which makes it hard to pull off during the winter months. Color is completely fine to wear as long as you tone it down with some neutrals. For example take your favorite bright floral dress and pair it with a darker neutral color cardigan. This will tone down the brightness, and allow you to rock it all year long
5. Add an oversized sweater on top of summer dress
Just like in the first tip we gave about layering underneath items, you can just as easily layer on the top. We love the look of an oversized sweater on top of a short flowy dress. Add some of your favorite thick tights or leggings

I love doing my makeup! But if there were two things I could live without doing, it would be taking my makeup off and doing my eyebrows. I absolutely hate doing my eyebrows because they never turn out even, take to long to do and never look like how I want them to look. I had heard about permanent makeup years ago, from my close friend who had hers done, but the thought of permanent makeup freaked me out. And honestly, I don't trust many people with my makeup, let alone permanent makeup. It wasn't until last year that I heard about microblading. I started seeing pictures and little videos on Instagram of girls getting their eyebrows microbladed. I instantly was infatuated by the process! I loved how natural they looked. My biggest fear was getting tattooed brows and having two solid black strips on my face. But microblading is so delicate and natural looking. Basically, the artist draws little tiny hairs on your eyebrows with a blade and ink, which shapes and darkens the brows. You can create any shape and color you'd like. I have eyebrows that don't grow all the way out about my eyes and I have really thin sides, which makes shaping a nightmare! So needless to say, I am a perfect candidate for microblading. Amber Kozlowski is an amazing esthetician. She specializes in brows, eyelashes and skin care at Salon Precis. She did such an amazing job on my brows, I would 100% recommend her to anyone! Even if you don't want to get microblading just yet, she does waxing, tinting and shaping! You can see all her before/afters on her instagram page here. She charges $350 for microblading, which includes the six week touch up. If you say Savvy Soles referred you, you will get $50 off :) Just go to her Instagram page and DM her to schedule an appointment.
My 5 favorite things about microblading:
1. I don't have to shape! (my least favorite part of doing my makeup)
2. I can wear no makeup and feel good about myself (not having eyebrows shaped makes a huge difference!)
3. I can rub my eyebrows without messing them up
4. It lasts 2-3 years (but may fade earlier)
5. It looks so natural!!
