I cannot believe I am 24 weeks already! I have been reminiscing back on when I found out I was pregnant so I thought I would share my story with you guys!
It seems like yesterday that I was walking through Smith's grocery store, thinking about buying a pregnancy test. I was about a week and a half late, which was pretty normal for me. There would be weeks and sometimes months that would go by where I would miss my period so I wasn't too suspicious or getting my hopes up about being pregnant. But at the same time, this one felt a little different because my husband and I had just really started trying within the last 5 months because I was graduating from college in December.
I had bought so many pregnancy tests before and "failed" and would always end up starting my period the next day. So I was super hesitant about buying this one. Also, I couldn't find them anywhere in the store, and ended up asking someone, and they said you had to ask for it at the pharmacy, which I reeeally didn't want to do. Lol. I just like doing stuff like this in secret anyway, AND I didn't have my wedding ring on, so I felt a little awkward. lol. But I swallowed my pride and asked the pharmacist for a test.
On my way home I drank a whole bottle of water and took the test the second I walked in the door. In the back of my mind I kept telling myself it was negative and there was no way I was pregnant because I NEVER am haha. As soon as the minute was up, I looked at the screen and sure enough, a PLUS sign! I literally just stood there shaking my head, smiling and repeatedly saying, OMG OMG OMG. I called my husband and told him to rush home because a "package" just came in the mail (one I "got" for him from Black Friday) -BTW this all took place the week after Thanksgiving where we spent the week in Boston and we had just gotten home the day before)
So back to my story- my husband looooves presents and getting packages in the mail haha. So he fell for my lie and came home right away. I wrapped the test in some tissue paper and put it in a brown paper bag. I think I can keep my composure pretty well when it comes to surprises, so as he was unwrapping the present I was just acting calm saying things like "you are going to love this" "this is something you have been wanting for a long time" blah blah. For a second he thought it was a pen. lol When he finally opened and saw the test he just said "Shut up". And started laughing. And then immediately asked, "Is it a boy or a girl?!?" HA! I literally died.
So now looking back on these last 6 months, I am just so so so beyond grateful and blessed that God chose me and my husband to have a little baby. Ever since I was little, I ALWAYS wanted to be a mommy. When my friends and I would play House (girls you know what game I am talking about) haha. I was always the designated mommy. Mostly all my friends wanted to be the baby or the sister and NEVER the mom, so I was super happy about always getting that position. And in just 16 short weeks, I will be and actual mommy and getting my own little baby!! Ah, I still can't believe it. Creating a child inside your body is just so mind boggling!! Our bodies are AMAZING!!
Anyway, thanks for reading!! Oh and a little update on life! Sarah's baby girl, Cece, is exactly 6 weeks today. She is the sweetest little baby, that never really cries, and loves lying on her stomach and on our chests. It is the MOST precious thing ever. ah. I am moving to New Orleans with my hubby on Monday. We are just leaving for the summer for work. I will be coming back in the beginning of July so I can get ready for baby Reign! Wish me luck in New Orleans! And if you have any recommendations on things and places to eat there pleeeease let me know :) All I plan on doing is laying in the pool and eating good food while I am there ;)
