Traveling with an infant is definitely no easy task, packing for one is even harder! I think I brought her whole wardrobe worrying I might not have enough clothes for her. I was so worried about everything I would need for her that I forgot my ID and didn't remember until we got to the airport and I about had a heart attack. Luckily my husband is a pro at weaving through traffic and got all the way to my house and back with 5 minutes to spare! Everything after that felt like smooth sailing!
After we landed and got our car and settled into our Airbnb, we headed straight to the beach! The weather was absolutely perfect, and of course we had to stop off and get some snow cones. :0 Everything seems to taste better when you're sitting on the beach basking in the sun! We also found this cute little breakfast shack that we went to every morning and got their meat breakfast burrito with everything on it. If you're ever in the oceanside, CA area, you definitely need to try this! Its right on the beach so you can have a great view while your chowing down.
One of our absolute musts on this trip was our Vauva backpack! We literally took it everywhere with us! It was the perfect size to fit everything I needed for Cece, and I also had enough room for sunscreen, water, phone, and all my other knick knacky things I like to carry around with me.

So as most of you know, we have been living in New Orleans since April, for my husbands work. Every summer we move to a new state from usually April-September. But this summer is different for us because we have our baby girl coming August 1! So I will be going back to Utah at the end of June to starting nesting and getting ready for her :)
My husband, Drew, and I decided to take a little trip to the Grand Isle this last weekend. . His only day off is Sunday, so we had to take advantage of the one day we get off! The Grand Isle a town right off the Gulf of Mexico, where they have a cute beach town and beach houses where people can rent and hang out! The drive there is basically one road that goes through marshland and water and endless ocean. It's pretty cool but I felt a little claustrophobic being so low with the water. Like I am used to being elevated and seeing mountains in Utah, but here you can't see anything but water! We had a fun day just hanging out at the beach, tanning and finding seashells. After, we went and got some fried chicken, which is my faaaaaavorite meal since I have been pregnant! I loove it, and this is the perfect place to be for that. haha.
So next week I finally get to see Sarah and Cece!! We are taking a siblings trip to San Diego :) I am sooo excited. We got an airbnb in Oceanside, so we will be just hanging out at the beach and chilling! I haven't seen Sarah and Cece for 2 months, so it is going to be sooo good to see them!!
I hope you guys are having a fabulous weekend! Thanks so much for reading!!
In our last post about baby must haves, I had the Owlet on my list of 5 things I can't live without, and this product is so great I wanted to do a whole post just about it!
First off, I cant even believe the technology that is out these days. I don't know how I would live way back when there was no modern medicine, and none of the other 5 things that were on my must have list! Its amazing the things we have nowadays, and I feel incredibly lucky to be having a baby in this modern world! That being said.. The owlet is definitely one of those modern technologies that every new mom needs to have! If you're not familiar with it, the Owlet is a "smart sock" that your baby wears while sleeping. It uses pulse oximetry (the same technology as the little red light they clip on your finger at the doctor's office) to track your little one's heart rate and oxygen levels. It connects to a Base Station, and from there, you can also view live readings your phone.
When I first received the package it came in this cute blue box, and when you open it up the sock is displayed exactly how its suppose to fit on the baby's foot which is very helpful because my brain power is not the strongest these days. The box comes with directions on how to set it up, and it surprisingly very simple, it took me about 10 min to get the whole thing up and running. The first thing you have to do is download the app, and then once you have that setup you get the base connected to your internet and voila! your'e ready to use it! The owlet comes with 3 different socks so as your baby grows you can change out the sock which is super awesome considering my baby already has big feet! She must get it from her daddy who wears a size 14... lol
The first night I used it I was a little skeptical that it would actually work and I continued to check on her throughout the night, but once I used the owlet for a couple days I completely trust the technology, and instead of being the crazy mom who checks on her baby every 5 min, I sleep so much better knowing that the owlet notification is designed to sound if heart rate or oxygen fall outside of the preset zones. Its also fun to check the app and see what her heart rate and oxygen levels are at, I swear I check it probably every ten minutes because its so fascinating to me! Seriously, you cant go wrong with this product, and it is definitely worth the money just by the extra sleep you gain!
You can buy the owlet at www.owletcare.com for $299.99
*Thank you Owlet for sponsoring this post
How am I 30 weeks?! Everyone said the time would fly by, and as much as I wanted to believe them I didn't. And now I am looking back on the last 7 months, like where the heck did time go?? So many things have happened within those last 7 months! Right now my husband and I are living in Louisiana, until the first week of July, and then I will go back home to Utah, so I can prepare for baby girl. In the mean time, I am going to California with Sarah, Cece, her hubby and our brother and sister in law! We got an airbnb in San Diego for the week. I am so excited because it will almost be 2 months since I saw them!! It will be nice to hang out on the beach and relax! Even though that's really all I have been doing here in Louisiana too. haha. The pool and I are definitely best friends ;)
I lived in Carlsbad for two years, so it will be fun to go back and visit the place I went to high school and where our mom and little brother live! Any good food places or fun suggestions to do in San Diego while we are there? I feel like we always do the same thing and eat at the same places, so some new ideas would be great!
Hope you guys are enjoying your week!!
